Melanoma Codes
Every year, over 3000 people in Germany die from skin cancer, often because a tiny skin change is overlooked. One small spot can change everything.
For the Professional Association of German Dermatologists (BVDD), the Melanoma Codes were created as an eye-catching campaign for skin cancer prevention. Two almost identical QR codes, differing only by a single dot, lead to different realities: to life before the diagnosis or afterwards. The codes link to real patient stories and a microsite that provides information and encourages early detection. I worked on this project as an art director in the motion and animation department and helped design the visual implementation. The aim was to make it possible to experience how much difference a single point in life can make.
